What is a Master code?
This is the numerical 4 digit Personal codes used on the keypad to arm and disarm your alarm system . Depending on your system and your application, you can have one or several passcodes programmed into your system, if needed.
What is a Central station passcode?
This password comprised of a minimum of 4 and maximum of 9 digits ( can be numbers, words or combination of both) is used to identify you as the alarm system owner/ your representative by monitoring station despatcher when there is an alarm is triggered and also this password is required to speak with a despatcher at the monitoring station.
What does that mean, when my alarm keypad shows “no AC”
This indicates that either the wall mounted power supply has been dislodged from the receptacle into which it was placed by your DAC installer, a circuit breaker which controls that receptacle has faulted (turned off the circuit); or for some reason, your home has lost line voltage. Your alarm system has a backup battery, which if it has been properly maintained, will allow your alarm system to continue to operate for several hours before this battery depletes. Once power is restored, this battery will automatically recharge.
Why does motion sensor gives false alarms?
If you arm your system to the “AWAY” mode, but remain inside the premises, the motion sensor is active and detects movement in its detection range as an intruder.
Do I need an alarm permit?
Yes, Its is mandatory for almost all cities in USA. Visit your city/police department website for more details.
Who is responsible for obtaining the permit?
As an alarm system owner, you are responsible for obtain the alarm permit, If you need any help please contact DAC Security.
What will happen if I do not obtain an alarm permit?
If there is an alarm activity at your location and when the central station despatcher calls to dispatch assistance to your location from your city , your city will determine whether you have a permit or not. If you do not have a permit, they may not send help or they will send help but they will charge you a penalty for non-compliance.
How does an alarm system work?
The alarm system is comprised of the control panel, keypad & siren which is used to turn the system on and off and inform you of the status of the system and alert you if there is a breakings. The sensors which may be or may not be included on the system are windows contacts, door contacts , motion sensors and glass break detectors are used to detect activities and communicate them through control panel to monitoring center which constantly watches for signals from your system. Our highly trained despatchers are ready for 24 hrs a day for you to support in case there is an emergency at your location.
Can I arm and disarm my alarm system remotely?
Yes, You can arm and disarm your system remotely only if you have purchased the interactive monitoring package.
